Labyrinth Clean Up--July 11, 2009

Seven folks showed up to help clear the labyrinth of stubborn weeds! The church sanctuary shades the labyrinth very well from 8AM to 9AM while we worked. It was hot, but there was a pleasant breeze and good company. We were done with the work by 8:45 and all that remained was to consense on where to go for our well-earned breakfast! Thanks to everyone!!

Report to February Council 2009

Celestial Celebrations Circle postponed our Imbolc Ritual to Feb. 7th. The ritual was very well attended with about 25 people. We collected quite a bit of food for the Food Bank.

We will have a second event this month—a labyrinth walk on Feb. 21st.

Respectfully submitted,
Maggi Joseph

Demeter Poem

Tassels
of corn bow
at her passing,
waves of wheat part
at her crossing,
glints of green and gold
weave her crown
as summer spreads
its apron of time.
Demeter treads lightly
calling each bud
to its fullness,
each fruit
to it ripeness
but six bitter seeds
of the pomegranate
lie still
at her feet.

Celestial Celebrations Circle Report to the Sept. 2008 Council Meeting

CCC had a very busy month In August. We planned and held a Full Moon Labyrinth Walk which was well attended (about 18 people). We also met to plan the Pagan Pride Day closing ritual. In early September we met to plan the Fall Equinox Ritual, the Dedication Ceremony for the statue of Demeter, and a Labyrinth work day to get rid of some thorny and twiny plants that are obstructing the pathways of the Labyrinth. The Dedication of the Demeter statue was held following the Ingathering worship service on Sept. 6th.
