About Us

Celestial Celebrations Circle (CCC) serves the First UU Church (FUUCSA) community and the wider UU community through presenting lay-led worship services, presenting earth-centered spiritual perspectives as part of the Religious Education program, making donations to Church fund-raisers, and participation in District and Continental UU conferences.

We invite interested adults who wish to explore this spiritual path in harmony with Unitarian Universalist Purposes and Principles to contact us.

We meet on Saturdays indicated here at 7:00 PM on the church grounds next to the Jefferson Building or at the Labyrinth southwest of the Sanctuary Building.

CCC was started as Earthspirit Circle in 1992 by Mooncrone and Ms. Dragon with public rituals observing the solstices and equinoxes as the wheel turns the year. Soon we changed to monthly rituals taking the name the Full Moon Circle. It was always our intention to formally affiliate with Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans (CUUPS) and in 1997 we finally became an officially registered chapter. At that time we adopted the name Celestial Celebrations Circle. We continue to offer monthly sabbat rituals and drum circles/labyrinth walks.

We meet under the auspices of the First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Antonio and continue to be an officially registered chapter of the Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans (CUUPS).

Our purpose is to provide an opportunity at FUU for spiritual enrichment for UUs interested in exploring earth-centered spirituality and for pagans from the San Antonio area community to connect with Unitarian Universalism.

We endeavor to express through our events our reverence for all forms of life and spirit. We do NOT provide child care during our rituals. Children who are old enough or interested enough to participate are welcome to attend with a parent or guardian. Older teens (under 18) may attend without a parent present if we have written parental consent; we want to ensure that parents understand our group's intent and practices.

After you've attended several rituals we encourage participation in our planning group. We always look forward to fresh ideas.

We share a potluck feast following our rituals for fellowship and we ask that you bring a dish to share with others. Specifics about each upcoming event are announced in several ways: they are sent to our Yahoo Group elist, posted on our website, and announced in the FUUCSA weekly announcements and monthly newsletter.
